Im sorry to step in abruptly, but just by curiosity do you know if the Correctional Association still works in LGBT juvenile program. I’m interning in an LGBT civil rights organization and I was planning to apply at CA if they still have that project. Any inside info would be very much appreciated

Hey Michael,
This that you are doing its awesome, Personal experience: I lived in a building in 151st St and Broadway, the owner lose the building and then the strategy was to misinform tenants so we weren’t fully aware who to pay the rent to and therefore be subject of eviction.
Eventually we were evicted, but we didn’t want to deal with the new admo any way. I realize that there is few or limited tenant protection and pretty sure that the prize of the rent in my former building is going to the skies.

Such a bitter comment from sweet and lovely Tori,
matter of fact is that MSM (Main stream Media) is not as relevant as it used to be (as much as I hate to admitted), so the fact that you and others like you spread the word about what is happening might be the first step to create awareness.
For example, I wonder what was the legislation about? who were the people who rally against it?

when you finish a Marathon a nobody cheer you, well, at least you know you are in great shape

That’s a real interesting question, Mike. It’s like finishing a marathon, crossing the finish line, and nobody’s there to cheer you on. Technically, it didn’t happen.

I hear what you are saying and I agree with it – a place is what you make it. I am not walking around looking to be offended. These blog posts are a very tiny glimpse of my experience here and if you notice from my blog name (torilovesdc), I actually like the place. This means that there are a lot of good things that happen in DC that I do not blog about.
With all due respect, you and I will have two different perspectives of DC because I will be here for a measly two and a half months while you have lived here for almost all of my life. The corporate world here is a tiny bit different from the corporate world in NYC (at least what I’ve been exposed to) and I am simply taking note of my observations.

That’s awesome. I’m interning at the Correctional Association. They have a wonderful Juvenile Justice Project. Glad to see others are interested.
